Directed by Mari Selvaraj, Maamannan will be Udhayanidhi’s last film as an actor. The actor, who is the son of Tamil Nadu chief minister M.K. Stalin, has already announced his decision to quit acting after assuming charge as the minister for youth welfare and sports in the Tamil Nadu Government.

Apart from Udhayanidhi, Maamannan also stars Keerthy Suresh, Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil in key roles. This is Rahman’s first collaboration with Udaynidhi Stalin and Mari Selvaraj.

Even before the launch of the complete album, two songs from Maamannan, which have already been released, have taken social media by storm. Raasa Kannu, a haunting melody sung by Tamil actor Vadivelu, has been viewed more than 6.3 million times on YouTube.

The other song, titled Jigu Jigu Rail, clocked 3.5 million views on YouTube in four days since its release on May 27. A reggae number, the music video of Jigu Jigu Rail features Rahman shaking his leg with a bunch of kids.
