Dulquer Salmaan’s middle-class banker comes to possess a large amount of money and gold, making everyone around him wonder how he became rich all of a sudden in the teaser of Venky Atluri’s upcoming film Lucky Baskhar, dropped by the makers on Friday.
The one-minute-19-second-long teaser introduces us to Baskhar as a “common, middle-class, Indian man”, who is tired of the drudgery of everyday life. He wakes up every morning, gets ready for work and beats traffic on the way on a daily basis. His life lacks excitement as he counts other people’s money while being cash-strapped himself.
One day, he comes across a suitcase loaded with wads of money and gold, making everyone around him baffled as to how a simple banker could earn such a huge sum of money. The teaser also shows Meenakshi Chaudhary as Baskhar’s love interest in the film.
“Middle-class mentality, sir. We spend less and save every penny,” Baskhar tells his boss in a scene, which is interspersed with scenes showing him hiding the currency notes inside barrels and flower vases. “But if we are determined, we spend every penny without thinking like spendthrifts,” he adds with a sly expression on his face.
Towards the end of the teaser, we get a glimpse of Baskhar’s bank account summary, which goes from Rs 6 crore to zero in a jiffy.
Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Dulquer wrote, “A tease into the extraordinary tale of #LuckyBaskhar. #LuckyBaskharTeaser is out now in Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi & Tamil Languages.”
On February 3, Salmaan had shared a poster of the film that features him wearing a formal shirt and glasses.“Celebrating twelve years of my magical journey in Cinema, here’s presenting the first look poster of our very ambitious #LuckyBaskha,” the actor had written alongside the poster.
