The new series Gojamil, directed by Surajit Mukherjee, will be streaming on Platform 8 from December 11. Gojamil follows Bijoy, who is a simple, conservative Bengali man. His daily routine revolves around the office and home, a life that makes Bijoy content but his wife Leela dissatisfied.
Leela is intelligent, educated, and smart. Shortly after marrying Bijoy, she realises their relationship is a complete mismatch. One day, by chance, she meets Mr. Kar, Bijoy’s boss. Mr Kar is exactly the kind of man Leela had always envisioned as her ideal partner. Although Mr Kar is married, his wife is nothing like his type, which makes it easy for Leela and Mr Kar to form a romantic relationship. Their affair progresses to the point where they decide to elope. Leela writes a letter to Bijoy and leaves with Mr Kar. However, fate intervenes, and Bijoy meets Mrs Kar.
“The character of Bijoy in the series Gojamil is impressive as well as heart-touching. A simple, common man, who is compassionate for love and dreams to make his married life more affectionate and fulfilling. His struggles, passions, and vulnerabilities will make him relatable to real-life experiences of the audience. It was a memorable experience for me to bring the character of Bijoy to life. I hope viewers will connect with his story,” said actor Bimal Giri, who will be essaying the role of Bijoy in Gojamil.
“The viewers of Platform 8 are genuinely going to admire the character of Leela Bose, a modern, educated lady and wife of Bijoy. The character of Leela is a testament to the women who are not only beautiful but also ambitious. What will captivate the audience is Leela’s fiery spirit, unapologetic nature, and determination in her life and choices. This particular role has truly inspired me and I hope the audience will equally be happy and satisfied,” said Alivia Sarkar.
