Actress Liv Tyler is set to return to Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with Captain America: New World Order, according to American entertainment magazine The Hollywood Reporter.
The Armageddon actress has reportedly joined the cast of Captain America 4 and will reprise the role of scientist Betty Ross, the daughter of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, from the 2008 movie The Incredible Hulk, which was Marvel Studios’s second feature film and starred Edward Norton as Bruce Banner a.k.a The Hulk. Norton was later replaced by Mark Ruffalo as Hulk for The Avengers (2012).
The late William Hurt played General Ross in several MCU films and now the character will be portrayed by Harrison Ford in the upcoming Captain America film. The Cloverfield Paradox director Julius Onah is directing the movie from a script prepared by Winter Soldier show creator Malcolm Spellman. Anthony Mackie is headlining the film as Sam Wilson, inhabiting the mantle of Captain America for the first time on the big screen.
Carl Lumbly is coming back in the upcoming movie as the original super-soldier Isaiah Bradley after playing him in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series. Danny Ramirez is also reprising his role as Joaquin Torres from the series alongside MCU newcomer Shira Haas.
Captain America: New World Order is scheduled to be released on May 3, 2024.
