Lily Gladstone, Omar Sy, Kore-eda Hirokazu join Greta Gerwig on Cannes 2024 jury panel

The panel also includes Ebru Ceylan, Eva Green, Nadine Labaki, Juan Antonio Bayona and Pierfrancisco Favino

Killers of the Flower Moon actress Lily Gladstone, French star Eva Green, and Palme d’Or-winning Japanese director Kore-eda Hirokazu are among the members of the 77th Cannes Film Festival’s jury panel headed by Barbie director Greta gerwig.

The full jury panel, announced by the organisers on Monday, also includes Turkish screenwriter Ebru Ceylan, Lebanese director and screenwriter Nadine Labaki, Spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona, Italian actor Pierfrancisco Favino, Japanese director Kore-eda Hirokazu, and French actor-producer Omar Sy.

Gladstone had earned a nomination for best actress at the 96th Academy Awards for her role in Killers of the Flower Moon. At 37, she is the youngest member of the panel.

Green is a renowned figure in French cinema, while Kore-eda Hirokazu received the Palme d’Or win for Shoplifters in 2018. Omar Sy, a notable French actor, has gained recognition for his roles in Lupin and The Intouchables. Ebru Ceylan, the spouse of Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan, co-penned their Palme d’Or-winning film Winter Sleep in 2014.

The festival's competition lineup features 22 films, including anticipated works by Francis Ford Coppola (Megalopolis), Paolo Sorrentino (Parthenhope), Yorgos Lanthimos (Kinds of Kindness) and Ali Abbasi (The Apprentice). Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia's All We Imagine As Light has also made its mark by emerging as the first Indian entry in over three decades to be selected in the competition segment.

The Palme d’Or winner will be announced at the concluding ceremony of the festival on May 25.
