Lily Collins’ Emily Cooper gets torn between Lucas Bravo’s Gabriel and Lucien Laviscount’s Alfie after embracing new possibilities in her love life in the latest Emily in Paris Season 4 Part 1 trailer, dropped by Netflix on Monday.

The two-minute-20-second-long trailer picks up after the events of the third season, which ended on a cliffhanger. It begins with Emily talking to herself in the bathroom mirror about being single and coming across attractive men on the streets of Paris. Soon, she finds herself in a complex love triangle as Gabriel expects a child with his ex and Alfie grows increasingly wary about her and Gabriel.

While professional challenges arise, Emily is unable to move on from Gabriel and Alfie as they both mean a lot to her. “I promised myself I’d be open to any possibility,” she says, before meeting a different man at a party.

Emily in Paris, created by Darren Star, revolves around the life of marketing executive Emily Cooper, who is sent to Paris to provide an American perspective to a French firm. However, she faces extreme cultural clashes while trying to adjust to Parisian life and struggles with career, romance and friendships.

“Emily finds herself with a busy travel schedule in Season 4 of Emily in Paris. From the French Alps to the piazzas of Rome, viewers will vicariously experience amazing new locations through Emily’s eyes. Expect new characters, a lot more drama, romance, and a whole new language to try and master,” showrunner Darren Star said in a statement.

Season 4 of the show will pick up the threads of the last season that showed Emily committing herself to a relationship with London-based Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) while maintaining her friendship with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo).

“After the dramatic events of Camille and Gabriel’s misbegotten wedding, Emily is reeling. (Wouldn’t you be?) Emily has strong feelings for two men, but Gabriel is on the verge of becoming a father, and ex boyfriend Alfie’s (Laviscount) worst fears about her and Gabriel have been confirmed. Unfortunately, Emily and Gabriel’s chemistry is undeniable as they work together towards a Michelin star, but two big secrets threaten to undo everything they’ve dreamed of,” reads the official synopsis of the upcoming season.

Also starring Ashley Park, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu and Samuel Arnold, Emily in Paris: Season 4 Part 1 is slated to hit Netflix on August 15.
