Actress Preity Zinta has shared a set of behind-the-scenes pictures featuring director Rajkumar Santoshi from the sets of her upcoming film Lahore 1947, which also stars Sunny Deol.

“On set for Lahore 1947,” wrote the 49-year-old actress, who is making a comeback to the big screen after several years, alongside the pictures posted on Instagram on Tuesday.

The first picture shows a clapperboard of the film, while Preity shared a selfie with Santoshi in the next slide.

Fans flooded the comment section with their excitement for the actress’s comeback. “Preity’s comeback,” one of them wrote. “QUEEN IS BACK IN BOLLYWOOD,” another commented.

Lahore 1947 is produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and was announced in October last year. The film marks the first collaboration between Sunny and Aamir. While Sunny has collaborated with Santoshi on Damini and Ghayal, Aamir has worked with him in Andaz Apna Apna and Damini.

“I, and the entire team at AKP, are most excited and happy to announce our next, starring Sunny Deol and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, titled Lahore 1947,” Aamir Khan Productions had written on Instagram in October 2023.

“We look forward to collaborating with the immensely talented Sunny, and one of my favourite directors Raj Santoshi. The journey we have embarked on promises to be most enriching,” it had added.

Lahore 1947 marks Sunny and Preity’s reunion after having worked together on films like Dillagi (1999), The Hero: Love Story of a Spy (2003), Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke (2001), Farz (2001) and Heroes (2008). They will be joined by veteran actress Shabana Azmi in the film, which started shooting in February.

Preity was last seen in the 2018 action-comedy Bhaiaji Superhit alongside Sunny. Sunny, on the other hand, last starred in Gadar 2, and has the films Baap and Soorya in the pipeline apart from Lahore 1947.
