The makers of Laapataa Ladies, helmed by Aamir Khan’s former wife Kiran Rao, released the first poster of the upcoming film ahead of its TIFF premiere on September 8.
After her feature debut with Dhobi Ghat in 2010, Kiran is making her comeback with Laapataa Ladies, which is set to hit the screens on January 5, 2024. The movie is Produced by Aamir Khan Productions and presented by Jio Studios.
“Ab milega #LaapataaLadies ka pata 5th January 2024 ko, aapke nazdiki cinema gharon mein,” wrote the production house on Instagram while sharing the poster.
In the poster, we see a young man looking at someone who looks like a new bride and covering her entire face with a sari.
Set in 2001, the film follows two young brides who get lost from a train. It stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan in lead roles.
The script is based on an award-winning story by Biplab Goswami. The screenplay and dialogue are written by Sneha Desai, while additional dialogues have been jotted down by Divyanidhi Sharma.
