Dragon Warrior Po Ping faces his greatest challenge from a new foe at a time when he has embarked on a journey to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace in the Kung Fu Panda 4 trailer, dropped by Universal Pictures on Wednesday.
The two-minute-26-second-long trailer shows Po on his way to emerge as the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace. But before he can get to the lofty position, a new villain starts posing threats to the Kung Fu enthusiast— a wicked, powerful and shapeshifting lizard-sorceress named Chameleon, who has her eyes on Po’s Staff of Wisdom.
The video goes on to depict Po’s preparations for becoming the spiritual leader. It shows Master Shifu guiding Po on how to meditate, while the latter’s mind constantly wanders off to his paleo diet. It also gives a quick glimpse of Tai Lung, a powerful master of the Leopard Style of kung fu, who makes a thrilling comeback. Other characters like Tigress, Mantis, Monkey, Crane and Viper also make an appearance in the trailer.
School of Rock star Jack Black reprises his role as the voice actor for Po, while Oscar-winner Viola Davis lends her voice to Chameleon. Academy Award-winner Dustin Hoffman will voice Master Shifu and Everything Everywhere All at Once star Ke Huy Quan will join the ensemble as the voice actor of a new character, Han, the leader of the Den of Thieves.
Directed jointly by Mike Mitchell and Stephanie Ma Stine, Kung Fu Panda 4 is slated to release in theatres on March 8, 2024.
