Actress Kriti Sanon has clarified the correct pronunciation of her name, offering a glimpse of moments when reporters, paps and even crew members wrongly pronounced her first as well as last name during promotional events and on the sets.

“So over the years I have heard various pronunciations of my name, both first and last, which I thought was a very simple name,” says Kriti in a video she shared on Instagram on Wednesday.

The video includes clips of reporters mispronouncing her name, pronouncing Kriti as ‘Keerti’. A clip from Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya promotions shows Kriti’s co-star Shahid Kapoor teaching photographers how to pronounce her name correctly.

A sequence of clips shows her team members attempting to pronounce the actress’ name correctly. While some succeed, quite a few mispronounce both her first and last names.

“No team members were harmed during the making of this video. P.S. For those still struggling, I hope this was helpful,” wrote Kriti alongside the video.

On the work front, the National Award-winning actress is currently working on her first production venture Do Patti. The Shashanka Chaturvedi-helmed crime thriller also stars Kajol. Do Patti is backed by Kriti's home banner Blue Butterfly Films, which she launched in July 2023.

Do Patti also marks Kriti’s second collaboration with Kajol after Rohit Shetty’s 2015 romantic action comedy Dilwale. Additionally, the film introduces Shaheer Sheikh, a familiar face from Indian television.

Co-produced by Kanika Dhillon, who also serves as the screenwriter, Do Patti is slated to premiere on Netflix in 2024.
