Actress-producer Kriti Sanon celebrated the success of her latest Netflix crime thriller, Do Patti, with a party attended by Tamannaah Bhatia, Rakul Preet Singh and Kusha Kapila, among others.
“A sweet success well celebrated last night,” wrote Kriti on Tuesday, sharing pictures which also feature the film’s writer Kanika Dhillon and co-star Shaheer Sheikh. Kajol, who plays cop Vidya Jyoti in the film, gave it a miss. “Kajol ma’am we missed you so much last night,” wrote Kriti in her note on Instagram.
Among the attendees were Do Patti director Shashanka Chaturvedi, Sophie Choudry and Kriti’s parents and younger sister Nupur.
While Kriti, Tamannaah and Rakul raised the heat in black dresses, Kusha looked gorgeous in a blue bodycon dress and Nupur (known for her role in the television series Pop Kaun) rocked a shimmery green tunic and black trousers.
In her note, Kriti mentioned that Do Patti was the first film to be produced by her home banner, Blue Butterfly Films, which she launched in July last year. “My first as a producer... Thank you to each person who walked with us, cheered us and supported this special film. And the biggest thank you to our audience for making Do Patti a smashing hit and for giving it so much love. Your love is above everything,” she wrote.
Do Patti is a film of many firsts. It also marks Kanika Dhillon’s first stint as a co-producer, and Kajol in the role of a cop. Also starring Tanvi Azmi, Brijendra Kala, Vidushi Manaduli and Danish Kalra, the film is trending at No. 3 on Netflix’s list of top 10 movies in India.
Do Patti stars Kriti in a double role – as Saumya and her identical twin Shailee. The film opens with a paragliding mishap where Saumya accuses her husband Dhruv Sood (Shaheer) of attempted murder. Kajol’s Vidya Jyoti leads the investigation. Dhruv, a wealthy businessman with a powerful father, woos both the sisters but marries the submissive Saumya to improve his public image. Bored with her mild demeanor and mental health struggles, he becomes violent and starts an affair with Shailee, leaving Saumya scarred.
