Check out the announcements of the day from the film and OTT world. From posters to first looks, teasers to trailers, here’s all that is coming up soon.
Koffee With Karan Season 7
Karan Johar is all set to brew a fresh, new season of Koffee With Karan, from July 7 on Disney Plus Hotstar. To the amusement of the show’s fans, Karan launched a witty, self-deprecating trailer. It opens with him announcing that everyone wants the show to come back, followed by hate comments and trolls calling him out - ‘Nepo king,’ ‘Retire ho jao uncle,’ ‘#BoycottKWK’. Some of the fun moments are when he is seen pleading with his industry friends on the phone to come on the show. “Please come, please please… I will give you two hampers, okay three… I launched you… Okay, no personal question. Bas idhar udhar ki baatein and talk about the environment,” he implores. He even tries to lure someone by saying that the hampers are going to be expensive, so they can sell them off! KJo sure knows how to take a dig at himself to bring on the laughs.
There’s a buzz that the new season will feature newly married couple Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani stars Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, Kabir Singh lead pair Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, soon-to-be-released Liger pair Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday, and former beauty queens and actresses Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan among others.
Phone Booth
Katrina Kaif’s next film Phone Booth, also starring Ishan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi in lead roles, is all set to release on October 7.
After the motion poster launch on Monday, which called it a ‘bhayanak comedy’, the poster of Phone Booth dropped on Tuesday, giving a sneak peek into Katrina’s new look where she’s sporting bangs. She is also seen doing some magic tricks with supernatural elements around, while Siddhant gleefully smiles on and Ishaan, in a pair of specs, appears to be a bit worried.
“#PhoneBhoot ki duniya mein aapka swagat hai. Arriving on 7th Oct, 2022 at cinemas near you. 👻”- reads Katrina’s Instagram post. Husband Vicky Kaushal has dropped a heart emoji on the post to support his ladylove.
After the recent success of the horror-comedy genre with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 starring Kartik Aryan and Kiara Advani, it would be interesting to watch the trio of Katrina-Ishan-Siddhant on screen for the first time. From the poster and the motion poster, it looks like a fun watch with a fresh cast. Phone Bhoot also stars Jackie Shroff and Sheeba Chaddha.
Earlier, the horror-comedy, directed by Gurmmeet Singh of Mirzapur-fame and produced by Excel Entertainment, was supposed to hit the screens on July 15.
