Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi — the cast members of director Gurmmeet Singh’s Phone Bhoot — were the guests on Episode 10 of Koffee With Karan Season 7 on Thursday.

This set out to be another film promotional chat, with Phone Bhoot slated for a November 4 release, but the two young actors — led by Katrina — managed to bring the spark back to the show and keep the promo talk to a minimum.

Katrina admits hubby Vicky Kaushal was never on her “radar”

Getting together with Vicky Kaushal was “destiny” as he was never on her “radar”, revealed the newly-married Katrina. She had heard of Vicky in passing but did not really know of him as an actor until they met. Karan added that he had observed Vicky and Katrina hit it off at filmmaker Zoya Akhtar’s party.

Cut to now, Katrina is full of praise for her husband. She recalled her recent birthday when they were having a small party. Katrina, who had just recovered from Covid, was not feeling well. Vicky sensed her uneasiness and entertained the guests for over 40 minutes by dancing to Katrina’s songs from her films.

Ishaan on his ex-girlfriends, Ananya Panday and Janhvi Kapoor

A Suitable Boy’s Ishaan Khatter was not quiet about his breakup with his Khaali Peeli co-star Ananya Panday. He confirmed that the two were in a relationship and called Karan “mean” for grilling Ananya in Episode 4 about going on a date with Vijay Deverakonda while still being in a relationship with him. About their present dynamics, Ishaan said Ananya was a “sweetheart” and that he hoped to remain friends with her for life.

Quizzed about what Janhvi Kapoor’s number was saved as on his phone, Ishan replied “Janhvi Boney Kapoor”. This was a reference to Season 6, where Ishaan, who was rumoured to have been dating Janhvi, had revealed that he had saved Janhvi’s number as “are those potatoes”, based on an inside joke.

Ishaan code-names who Siddhant may be dating

The moment Karan poked Siddhant about who he was dating, Ishaan cut in with the code name “Ananda”. The hint was directed at the buzz about Siddhant dating Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda.

But the Gully Boy star shot down Ishaan’s murmuring by quipping that he was single and Ishaan, too, became single after he started hanging out with him.

Siddhant defends his comment on star kids getting a headstart

Karan reminded Siddhant that the comments he had made at the Newcomers Roundtable in 2019 had led to Ananya Panday getting trolled. Back in 2019, Siddhant had pointed out the headstart that star kids get, right after Ananya said that star kids had their own struggles to make it in Bollywood. While Siddhant’s comment was praised, Ananya’s was mocked online.

The Gehraiyaan actor stood by his statement, saying that he had not intended to hurt anyone; it was his “truth” that he felt necessary to speak about.
