The latest episode of Koffee With Karan 7, streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, welcomed actress Kriti Sanon and actor Tiger Shroff, who debuted together in the 2014 action film Heropanti.
With their screen chemistry apparent, Kriti and Tiger — who will be next seen together in the December release Ganapath — kept the conversation interesting and breezy in Episode 9. Here’s what made it a delectable and light watch.
Tiger too zen for Karan’s grilling
The War star acted cool even when show host Karan Johar tried to pry out a relationship confession from him. Despite his success with such grilling of other stars like Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, Karan failed to draw Tiger out about his relationship with Baaghi 2 co-star Disha Patani. In fact, Tiger was more open about his man crush on his War co-star Hrithik Roshan.
Though tight-lipped about Disha, Tiger was quite forthcoming about his romantic and sex life. When asked about which sexual fantasy he would like to come true, he admitted that all his sexual fantasies had been fulfilled. He also hinted at his past relationship with Student of the Year 2 co-star Ananya Panday and admitted to having a crush on Shraddha Kapoor.
Kriti and Aditya Roy Kapur — the next KWK couple?
When asked who she would like to date, Kriti named Aditya Roy Kapur. Pointing out that they never featured together, Kriti was open about her interest in the Sadak 2 star. Both Karan and Tiger agreed that Kriti and Aditya would make an attractive couple, with the latter also saying that Sidharth Malhotra, had he been single, would have made a great partner for Kriti.
Kriti on needing her mother’s approval for roles
Karan’s gripe with Kriti’s mother continues. In Episode 8, Karan had revealed that Kriti refused to act in Lust Stories as her mother told her not to take up the sexually-charged role she was offered (which was eventually played by Kiara Advani).
With Kriti on his couch in Episode 9, Karan cornered her by relating what she had told him backstage — that she could not be too candid on Koffee With Karan as her family would be watching it. In her defence, Kriti said that she hailed from a middle-class family that was not ready to see her being bold on screen. She also admitted that her mother had questioned her about the scene in Raabta where she is wearing a bikini. This made her decide to ask her family before taking up a role.
Kriti was rejected for Student of the Year
Before Karan put Kriti on the spot for rejecting Lust Stories, the actress put the director on the spot by revealing her Student of the Year (2012) rejection. Asked if she had faced many film rejections before being cast in Heropanti, Kriti replied that SOTY was the first film she had sent in audition tapes for and was promptly rejected.
Saving Karan from being trolled for casting Alia Bhatt instead of Kriti, the Luka Chuppi star openly admitted that her audition was not good and she did not deserve the role at the time. Kriti praised Alia for her acting skills, saying that she was inspired by Alia’s success in that movie and not envious.
