Kit Connor’s Nick Nelson and Joe Locke’s Charlie Spring lock eyes in a new Heartstopper Season 3 poster, dropped by Netflix on Wednesday, ahead of the upcoming instalment’s October 3 premiere.
“Cancelling all plans to cry at this Heartstopper poster until October 3,” wrote the streaming platform on X (formerly Twitter), sharing the fresh poster.
A teaser of Heartstopper Season 3, dropped in May, shows Charlie practising how to confess his love to his classmate Nick as Billie Eilish’s Birds of a Feather song plays in the background.
Based on Alice Oseman’s Heartstopper comics, the Netflix series follows Charlie and Nick as they navigate high school and romance. Their unlikely friendship gradually blossoms into something deeper in this teenage coming-out story.
“Season 2 ended with Nick beginning to understand the extent of Charlie’s mental health issues, and it’s this that will drive the story through Season 3,” Oseman said in a statement.
“The Season 3 premiere, suitably titled ‘Love’, picks up with Charlie eager to tell Nick that he loves him and Nick holding on to something important he has to say to Charlie. As the summer holiday ends and the months race on, the friends begin to realize that the school year will come with both its joys and its challenges,” reads the synopsis of the plot of the third season on Netflix's companion site Tudum.
Recently, the streamer announced that Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey will make a cameo appearance as Jack Maddox, Charlie’s ‘Instagram-famous crush’, in the upcoming season of Heartstopper.
Apart from Bailey, Captain America: The First Avenger actress Hayley Atwell and Back to Black’s Eddie Marsan are also joining the cast alongside returning cast members like Joe Locke, Kit Connor, Yasmin Finney, Sebastian Croft and William Gao.
