A long-haired Salman Khan is back in his action-hero avatar, punching, headbutting and throwing goons off moving trains in the latest trailer of his upcoming film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, dropped by Salman Khan Films on Monday.
The three-minute-25-second-long trailer of the Farhad Samji-directed film begins with Salman reciting a Sanskrit shloka from the epic Mahabharata. The scene cuts to him telling his love interest Pooja Hegde that he is known by the name Bhaijaan — a reference to the name given to Salman by his fans.
After a brief romance between Salman and Pooja, the trailer takes us to the latter’s traditional South Indian family. What starts off as a love story soon takes a dramatic turn following an attack on Pooja’s brother Venkatesh Daggubati by a mob led by Jagapathi Babu, the suit-clad villain. Now Salman must protect Pooja’s family and fight for justice.
Boxer-turned-actor Vijender Singh shines as one of the antagonists in his short but power-packed appearance in the trailer.
The background score adds to the romantic and celebratory mood of the trailer as well. Other than the latest song Yentamma, which has garnered 33 million views on YouTube in hardly five days since its release, the makers of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan have released four other songs from the discography, adding to the anticipation of the film.
According to the film’s synopsis, the initial story of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan revolves around Bhaijaan and his three brothers who are desperately trying to get married but have to wait till their elder brother, Salman, ties the knot. Pooja’s entry in his life fills his brothers with hope that they will be able to get hitched now that Bhaijaan has a partner.
Other than Salman, Pooja and Venkatesh, the film boasts an ensemble cast of Bhumika Chawla, Raghav Juyal, Shehnaaz Gill and Siddharth Nigam along with a cameo by RRR star Ram Charan.
Produced by Salman’s mother Salma Khan, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan promises more action than ever before with Salman breaking faces and twisting necks to save Pooja’s brother from the antagonists. The film releases in Hindi in theatres on April 21.
