Makers of Yorgos Lanthimos’ Kinds of Kindness have dropped a new trailer for the film following its premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, which saw Jesse Plemons bag the best actor award for his performance in the yet-to-be-released dark-comedy film.
“We might all be in danger. KINDS OF KINDNESS. The new film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. In UK cinemas June 28th. #KindsofKindness,” the official handle of Searchlight Pictures posted on X alongside the one-minute-14-second trailer.
Lanthimos and Emma Stone reunite for Kinds of Kindness following their collaboration on Poor Things, which swept the 96th Academy Awards earlier this year with four wins, including best actress for Stone.
Stone takes on the character of Rita, who embarks on a quest to find a man possessing a special ability, in the film. Her co-star Jesse Plemons portrays Robert, who has a bizarre encounter with Rita in the film's trailer, which features Eurythmics' Sweet Dreams in the background.
Also part of the ensemble are Stone’s Poor Things co-stars Margaret Qualley and Willem Dafoe, alongside Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer.
As per the synopsis on IMDb, Kinds of Kindness revolves around a man striving to deviate from his predetermined fate, a detective questioning his spouse's behavior following her alleged drowning, and a woman in search of an extraordinary individual destined to become a revered spiritual leader.
Kinds of Kindness is scheduled to release in the UK on June 28 and on June 21 in the US.
