BTS member Kim Taehyung aka V’s pet dog Yeontan died recently, the singer said in an emotional note on Instagram on Monday, remembering the times he spent with his four-legged friend.
“Hello ARMY, hope you are having a warm holiday. I'm glad the weather isn't hot yet! It's been a long time since I'm greeting the army with a song. As well as Hyoshin's song with my favourite brother, and Canon with Tom Crosby, whom I admire so much, I remember the fun memories that have passed while preparing. So it's already December this year. Actually, I'm posting this today because Yeontan recently went on a long trip with dogs. I thought a lot about how to tell the story, but it's right to say all of you who have sent me so much love so far, so I decided to share the news,” the Winter Bear singer wrote. He added, “I would appreciate it if the ARMYs could remind Yeontan to be happy even in the stars. I wish you a warm end of the year where you can say I love you to the loved ones around you once more. I love you thank you.”
The 28-year-old artiste also shared a bunch of Yeontan’s pictures, offering a glimpse of the fond memories they shared over the years. “Mr. Kim Yeontan,” V wrote alongside the pictures.
The South Korean singer is set to release a one-of-a-kind rendition of the late jazz singer Bing Crosby’s 1942 song White Christmas as a duet on December 6.
“White Christmas - V & Bing Crosby, Dec 6, 2 PM (KST) | 0 AM (ET),” the official handle of BTS wrote alongside a graphic poster featuring Crosby and Yeontan.
The upcoming single will be a remix of the original version, in which V will join the legendary singer. The song arrives nearly 47 years after Crosby's last duet, his 1977 collaboration with David Bowie on Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy.
Currently, V is serving in the South Korean military along with his bandmates — Suga, RM, Jimin and Jungkook. His new single FRI(END)S came out on March 15. He also appeared in the music video for K-pop artiste IU's single Love Wins All, which was released on January 24.
