Leonardo DiCaprio’s war hero unwittingly gets entangled in Robert De Niro’s clash with the native Osage tribe over a patch of Oklahoma’s oil-rich land in the new trailer of Martin Scorsese’s upcoming western crime drama Killers of the Flower Moon.
Dropped by Apple TV on Wednesday evening, the two-minute-24-second-long trailer shows DiCaprio’s war hero coming to Oklahoma to work for his uncle (De Niro), who asks him to woo a woman of the Osage tribe. Following his uncle’s advice, the war hero seduces Lily Gladstone’s character. The clip then follows a montage of random deaths and anarchy being unleashed in the local community while cutting to DiCaprio and Gladstone as a married couple in love. The death toll piques the interest of Washington as we see investigators coming to Oklahoma.
The trailer shows DiCaprio’s character in a dilemma — he is fearful of his uncle who wants to take over the land of the Osage tribe and yet wants to be beside his loving wife.
