After its premiere on Netflix on January 11, Killer Soup, touted as ‘the most bizarre crime thriller of the year’, emerged as the most popular web series of 2024 on IMDb with over 1,700 votes from users, earning it the first position on the list of this year’s most-watched Indian shows which also includes TVF’s Sapne vs Everyone and the Telugu drama series 90's - A Middle Class Biopic.

Loosely based on a real-life incident, Killer Soup revolves around a housewife named Swathi Shetty (Konkona), a budding chef, who loves making Paya soup (Trotter soup) and dreams of opening her own restaurant someday. But after her husband Prabhu learns of her extra-marital affair with his masseur Umesh, a double role played by Bajpayee, the former hits her brutally which leads Umesh to murder him on the spot. To evade suspicion from the police, Swathi replaces her dead husband with Umesh who looks exactly like the former.

Produced by Chetana Kowshik and Honey Trehan, Killer Soup also stars Sayaji Shinde, Mohanlal, Anbu Thasan, Kani Kusruti, Anula Navlekar and Nasser.
