Manish Malhotra, Bollywood’s OG fashion designer, is back in the limelight, having dressed the bride and the groom of one of the most anticipated Bollywood weddings in recent times, and with snaps of Hollywood star Aniston wearing a lehenga designed by him going viral.
For the Jaisalmer wedding of Kiara and Sidharth on February 7, Kiara went with a stunning pink ombre lehenga with intricate embroidery of Roman architecture, inspired by the couple’s love for Rome. Swarovski crystals sparkled all over the lehenga, a signature element of the celebrity designer.
The bride also debuted Manish Malhotra’s newest jewellery collection, Bespoke Diamond Jewellery, which will be launched in March. Kiara dazzled in an ornate neckpiece made of hand-cut diamond and Zambian emerald, with matching studs and bangles.
Sidharth looked gorgeous in a custom metallic gold-toned sherwani with ivory threadwork, zardozi and badla work. A handcrafted polki necklace and ring set, Raniwala 1881, with diamonds added a royal touch to his look. Both bride and groom wore footwear designed by Manish.
Manish has been the go-to person for Bollywood brides before Sabyasachi Mukherjee took the spot. Manish’s list of Bollywood brides includes Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Urmila Matondkar, Preity Zinta and Genelia D’Souza.
Among Bollywood men, Varun Dhawan went with Manish Malhotra for his 2021 wedding to Natasha Dalal. While Natasha wore a silver lehenga with bangles and kaliras, Varun opted for a matching bandhgala sherwani, a velvet blue stole with a silver border and off-white shoes.
Manish was in the global spotlight about a week back when Friends star Jennifer Aniston showed up in a lehenga from his Mijwan collection in the trailer for the Netflix film Murder Mystery 2.
The ivory lehenga in Mijwan chikankari took approximately three months to create and included rectangular motifs, an intricately embroidered floral blouse and a handmade back tassel.
Another Hollywood starlet who was recently seen in a Manish Malhotra design was Paris Hilton, who chose a stunning baby pink sari for a magazine shoot.
