Actress Sonam Kapoor celebrated the 10th anniversary of her film Khoobsurat on Wednesday, sharing a video featuring her scenes with Ratna Pathak and Fawad Khan from the movie.
“It’s been 10 years since I played Milli, and in many ways, I’m still her and she’s still me... Forever grateful for all the joy and the memories from this incredible thing we made @rheakapoor #10YearsOfKhoobsurat,” she captioned the video.
Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, Khoobsurat is a modern reimagining of the 1980 classic of the same name starring Rekha. The 2014 film centres around Milli, a quirky and free-spirited physiotherapist who unexpectedly finds herself in a royal household, struggling to connect with the family’s cold and reserved members.
As Milli uncovers the family’s hidden emotional struggles, her warmth gradually breaks through their rigid exterior, especially with the young prince for whom she develops feelings despite his engagement to someone else. The film’s vibrant storytelling, memorable characters and hit songs like Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai and Maa Ka Phone made it a standout experience for moviegoers.
Produced by Rhea Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Siddharth Roy Kapur, Khoobsurat also features Kirron Kher and Aamir Raza Hussain.
