Ram Kapoor’s egotistical record label owner clashes with a group of rebellious musicians — played by Prabh Deep, Skand Thakur, Salonie Patel and Saloni Batra — in the trailer of musical drama Khalbali Records, a new series set to premiere on JioCinema on September 12.
Released by Ram on Tuesday, the one-minute-long teaser begins with a hip-hop artist (Prabh Deep) announcing an uncensored, unfiltered, pro-hip-hop label named Khalbali Records.
However, drama unfolds when Ram’s character enters the scene. “We used to produce music the audience wanted to hear. Now, we make the audience listen to the music we produce,” he says.
The subsequent scene offers a glimpse of Anu Malik. A clash of interests between the entrepreneur and the band sets the stage for the musical drama.
“Expect plenty of drama, clashes, and chaos. #KhalbaliRecords, coming soon on JioCinema Premium,” wrote Ram, sharing the teaser on Instagram.
Singer Amit Trivedi serves as the music producer for the upcoming series directed by Devanshu Singh.
On the work front, Ram was last seen in Anu Menon’s mystery film Neeyat (2023), also starring Vidya Balan, Rahul Bose, Dipannita Sharma, Shashank Arora, Shahana Goswami, Neeraj Kabi and Amrita Puri.
