Riding high on her success in Kerala Story, Adah Sharma has boarded the cast of Shreyas Talpade-starrer thriller movie The Game of Girgit.

The actress will play a cop chasing the brains behind an online game that makes users harm themselves and others in the Vishal Pandya-helmed movie. “The film chronicles how an online game based on the Blue Whale challenge is harming people. It sets a series of tasks, leading to self-harm or harming someone else once one has taken the assignment there is no way out. I’m tasked with solving the case,” Adah explained.

Based on real events, Adah’s character finds her close friends become victims of the app developed by Shreyas’s character. After the tragedy, she takes it upon herself to protect vulnerable kids accessing the internet from that app.

Talking about the film, Shreyas said the film tried to portray how online games and apps could influence young people in a negative way. “The plot of The Game of Girgit is extremely interesting. That’s why I wanted to be associated with the project. The thriller also has a powerful message that we strongly feel should reach the audiences, especially kids and youngsters of the nation.”
