Rahul Bhat’s cop-turned-killing machine avatar sends shivers down the spine as he stabs one and throws another off the balcony in cold blood in the Kennedy teaser, dropped by director Anurag Kashyap on Twitter on Thursday.

The one-minute-14-seconds long teaser of Kennedy begins with a man smoking a cigarette in a dark room and asking someone in a matter-of-fact tone, “Bata kitna murder kiye tune” (say, how many murders have you committed). We then see a blindfolded man firing a gun at a person and drops of blood hitting the face of a bewildered woman. Rahul Bhat’s Kennedy appears in the next scene and starts killing people with a straight face. As bodies pile up, we hear again the voice in the background, screaming, “Kaun hai tu? Bata tera naam kya hai? Bata na” (Who are you? What is your name? Come on, speak up).

Although details about her character are not revealed in the teaser, Sunny Leone makes an appearance towards the end of the video. She is seen walking into an elevator with Kennedy and breaks into a laugh.

“Bataaaa...kitna maza aaya...yeh teaser dekh ke?! Kennedy premieres at @Festival_Cannes on May 24,” Anurag wrote on Twitter alongside the teaser.

The action-packed police noir, headlined by Rahul Bhatt and Sunny Leone, will be screened in the Midnight Screening category at the Cannes Film Festival on May 24. According to the official logline of the movie, Kennedy is “an insomniac former cop, presumed dead for years, who continues to officiate for a corrupt system while seeking redemption.”
