Keanu Reeves-starrer action thriller John Wick: Chapter 4 dominated the box office in India on its opening day, raising Rs 10 crore nett, Box Office India records highlighted on Saturday.
Starring Reeves as a ruthless assassin, John Wick: Chapter 4 also garnered positive reviews from the critics and the audiences alike.
Apart from Reeves, the film also features Donnie Yen, Laurence Fishburne, Bill Skarsgard and Ian McShane in significant roles. Chad Stahelski, who helmed the previous three films in the franchise, also directed John Wick: Chapter 4.
Meanwhile, Anibhav Sinha’s social drama Bheed, starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar, managed to earn only Rs 15 lakh nett at the domestic box office, as per trade records.
The social drama chronicles the hardships faced by migrant labourers as they were forced to return to their native villages when a nationwide lockdown was announced in 2020.
On the other hand, Rani Mukerji-starrer Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway did a better business than Bheed on Friday. Ashima Chibber’s legal family drama earned Rs 80 lakh nett on its eighth day of release. The film’s total domestic earnings have crossed Rs 11 crore nett.
Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar added another Rs 3.39 crore nett to its collection on its 18th day. The total domestic collection of the Luv Ranjan-directed romcom now stands at Rs 125 crore nett.
