Day 2 of San Diego Comic-Con was jam-packed with surprises as fans were given access to brand-new teasers, trailers and announcements from star-studded panels discussing their favourite shows and films. Here are the highlights.
John Wick: Chapter 4
Keanu Reeves surprised his fans on the second day of San Diego Comic-Con 2022 with a fresh look at his titular action hero character in the John Wick films. The trailer for the upcoming action drama John Wick: Chapter 4 was released on Day 2.
The 57-year-old actor also talked about BRZRKR, his comic book from Boom! Studios. Written by Reeves and Ron Garney, the story is about a half-god/half-man who battles through the ages. Netflix is working on the film adaptation that Reeves will star in and produce.
Directed by Chad Stahelski and written by Derek Kolstad, the John Wick franchise has elevated the scale of action movies to a whole new level with their neo-noir exploration of the genre.
Winston Scott, Lance Reddick and Laurence Fishburne will reprise their roles in Chapter 4. New additions to the cast are Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgard, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, and Japanese-British singer Rina Sawayama, making her feature film debut.
Earlier this week, the first-look poster of John Wick: Chapter 4 was unveiled by the makers on Twitter. “And so it begins... #JW4,” they tweeted.
The trailer finds John Wick doing what he does best — enacting revenge via any weapon he can get his hands on. The newest instalment of this all-action franchise is sure to include as much skull-bashing and ‘gun-fu’ as its previous chapters.
John Wick 4 is set to hit theatres on March 24, 2023.
