The trailer of Chandu Champion, that stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead and is directed by Kabir Khan, has come in for special praise. The June 14 release, which has Kartik playing India’s first Paralympics gold medallist Murlikant Petkar, warranted the actor to push himself in the disciplines of wrestling, boxing and swimming to lend authenticity to his portrayal.

“Preparing for Chandu Champion was a thrilling challenge. I had to learn wrestling, boxing, and swimming — three completely different sports. Working on this film has made me push my limits but I embraced the hard work and discipline. Mastering each sport was tough, but it made the role even more rewarding. I am excited for everyone to see the dedication and effort that went into bringing Murlikant to life,” says Kartik.

His drastic physical transformation for the role is much in evidence in the trailer. Jointly produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan, Chandu Champion promises to showcase Kartik in a never-before-seen avatar.
