Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani’s SatyaPrem Ki Katha crossed the Rs 60-crore mark in the beginning of its second week in theatres, trumping the two new releases of the week — Vidya Balan-starraer Neeyat and Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan’s 72 Hoorain — at the box office this weekend.
SatyaPrem Ki Katha mints Rs 66.06 crore
Opening with Rs 9.25 crore nett, SatyaPrem Ki Katha went on to mint Rs 53.36 crore nett at the domestic box office in its extended first week in theatres. However, the Sameer Vidwans directorial fared badly on the first day of the second week, registering its lowest daily collection — Rs 2.85 crore nett — on second Friday.
The collection, however, jumped to Rs 4.75 crore nett on Saturday, followed by Rs 5.25 crore nett on Sunday, taking its total collection to Rs 66.06 crore nett in 11 days.
Neeyat picks up over the weekend
Neeyat’s opening day collection — Rs 1.05 crore nett — at the box office was underwhelming. However, the Anu Menon-helmed murder mystery picked up pace over the weekend, adding Rs 1.62 crore nett to its kitty on Saturday, followed by Rs 1.55 crore nett on Sunday, taking its three-day collection to Rs 4.19 crore nett.
72 Hoorain struggles at the box office
Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan-helmed 72 Hoorain has been struggling at the box office since its release on July 7. The film earned approximately Rs 0.30 crore nett at the box office on its opening day and managed to rake in Rs 0.45 crore nett on Saturday. With another Rs 0.47 crore nett on Sunday, the film’s collection stands at Rs 1.26 crore nett so far.
