Actor Kartik Aaryan has lauded Sonu Nigam’s “heart-wrenching” voice, acknowledging its contribution to the emotional resonance of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’s climactic scene.

“The entire climax that everyone has been raving about was a combination of many forces coming together...out of which a Big Big credit goes to @sonunigamofficial sir and his heart wrenching voice,” wrote Kartik on Wednesday, sharing a picture with the singer on Instagram.

Kartik added that though his on-screen performance undoubtedly contributed to the scene's visual depth, the true "magic" of the moment emanated from Sonu's vocal expression. “I may have performed in front of the camera but it was his voice that created the heart touching magic,” he wrote, attributing the scene's success to the singer's voice.

The photo shows Kartik embracing Sonu. While Kartik sports a black shirt in the picture, Sonu is nattily dressed in a white kurta with a beige shawl wrapped around his shoulder.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is set in Rakhtghat, a village in West Bengal where the ghost of Manjulika lies trapped in a mansion. A princess of the royal family, Manjulika was burned to death 200 years ago for killing her brother Devendranath, the crown prince. It is believed a member of the royal family will reincarnate to finish off Manjulika’s spirit. The current royals look upon Kartik, who reprises his role as Rooh Baba, as their saviour.

Also starring Triptii Dimri, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 sparks sufficient intrigue with its two-Manjulika twist as both Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit deliver powerful performances.

Kartik’s exceptional performance in the climax reveals the unexpected twist in the story.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was released theatrically on November 1. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the horror comedy has garnered approximately Rs 212 crore at the domestic box-office.

The original Bhool Bhulaiyaa film, released in 2007, focused on Avni Chaturvedi (Vidya), a woman grappling with dissociative identity disorder. The movie also starred Akshay Kumar, Shiney Ahuja, Ameesha Patel and Paresh Rawal in key roles. The next Bhool Bhulaiya movie, which featured Kiara Advani and Tabu alongside Kartik, revolved around an entrapped spirit seeking revenge.

Sonu Nigam was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by The National Indian Students and Alumni Union (NISAU), UK, in June. The 50-year-old singer recently concluded a UK-wide tour, performing in London, Leeds, Glasgow and Birmingham, celebrating 30 years of his chart-topping hits, including Kal Ho Naa Ho, Shukran Allah and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
