Kartik Aaryan’s Rooh Baba and Vidya Balan’s Manjulika go head-to-head in the highly-anticipated Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 teaser, which offers the first glimpse of Triptii Dimri’s character and alludes to scenes from the first instalment of the horror comedy franchise.

Dropped by the makers on Friday, the one-minute-46-second-long trailer begins with a haunting sequence of a turban-sporting man being dragged by supernatural forces into the room where Manjulika is entrapped while the latter’s angry voiceover plays in the background. Set to the iconic track Ami Je Tomar, the subsequent scenes show a haunted mansion in Kolkata where Rooh Baba’s upcoming spooky adventure will take place.

In the trailer, Manjulika lifts a heavy throne with her hands, which is reminiscent of her scene in the 2007 hit film in which she lifted a huge bed out of anger. Kartik’s Rooh Baba holds a fire torch and sports an attire with holy mantras printed on them in one of the scenes.

The video also offers a glimpse of Kartik and Triptii’s love story in the film. However, the makers have kept Madhuri Dixit’s character under wraps.

The first instalment of the horror-comedy franchise, released in 2007, focused on Avni Chaturvedi (Vidya Balan), a woman grappling with dissociative identity disorder. The movie also starred Akshay Kumar, Shiney Ahuja, Ameesha Patel and Paresh Rawal.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 revolved around an entrapped spirit seeking revenge. The film emerged as one of the highest-grossing hits of 2022 with a collection of Rs 266.88 crore.

On the work front, Kartik Aaryan was last seen in Kabir Khan’s sports drama Chandu Champion.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar-led T-Series, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is slated to hit the screens this Diwali.
