Fed up with their low-paying jobs, three air hostesses — played by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon and Tabu — embark on a journey of thrill and adventure in the trailer of Rajesh A. Krishnan’s women-centric drama Crew, also featuring Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee, dropped on Saturday.

The two-minute-forty-four second long trailer begins with the lead actresses sitting inside a police station as a female inspector storms in and questions them about stolen gold.

The subsequent clips shed light on their financial struggles as air hostesses with Kohinoor Airlines, a company that has gone bankrupt. While Kriti’s character is desperate for her Diwali bonus, Kareena’s struggles to pay her rent regularly. In the middle of these day-to-day challenges, a minister dies on their flight. In an attempt to awaken him, the three air hostesses find gold bars hidden inside his shirt.

Kareena, Tabu and Kriti approach their boss Mittal ji (Rajesh Sharma) and convince him to entrust them with the job of smuggling gold bars. Overcoming police inspection and other challenges on their way, the three air hostesses endeavour to smuggle the gold. However, at this point, they cross paths with a customs officer (Diljit Dosanjh). The air hostesses suspect that Dosanjh is aware of their mission. The trailer also features Kapil Sharma as Tabu’s love interest and Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee as a multi-millionaire, the chairman of Kohinoor Airlines.

A perfect mix of humour and thrill, the trailer is full of sarcastic comments on socioeconomic disparities in today’s world. The trailer ends with Tabu putting her foot down as she convinces Kriti to pull herself together in the middle of a crisis. Snippets from the film’s Ghagra track play in the background along with a rendition of the Khalnayak song Choli Ke Peeche.

Produced by Shobha Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Ektaa R. Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, Crew is slated to hit the theatres on March 29.
