The Raj Kapoor 100 Film Festival will be held across 40 cities in India from December 13 to December 15

Members of the Kapoor family —including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt— jetted off to New Delhi on Tuesday for a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the centenary celebration of legendary actor Raj Kapoor. Take a look.

Sharing pictures with the Prime Minister, Kareena Kapoor expressed gratitude to him for inviting the Kapoor family to commemorate the extraordinary life and legacy of her late grandfather, Raj Kapoor. “Thank you Shri Modi ji for such a special afternoon. Your warmth, attention, and support in celebrating this milestone meant the world to us,” wrote Kareena alongside the photos on Instagram.  

Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Rima Jain, Anissa Malhotra Jain, Nikhil Nanda, Nitasha Nanda and other members of the extended Kapoor family were also present at the event.

While Alia draped a red sari, Ranbir was nattily dressed in a black Jodhpuri suit. Rima wore a monochrome ensemble and Anissa donned a pale green-and-pink salwar suit. 

While Kareena opted for a red suit, Saif paired a white kurta with white trousers and a grey waistcoat. Karisma and Neetu Kapoor were dressed in beige ensembles.

Remembering her late grandfather’s contribution to Indian cinema, Kareena wrote, “As we celebrate 100 glorious years of Dadaji’s artistry, vision, and contribution to Indian cinema, we honour the timeless impact of his legacy, which continues to inspire us and generations to come.”

In her caption, Kareena announced that the Raj Kapoor 100 Film Festival will be held across 40 cities in India from December 13 to December 15, during which 10 films of the legendary actor will be screened in 135 theatres across the country. Ticket prices have reportedly been set at a symbolic Rs 100. The ten films expected to feature at the festival are Aag, Barsaat, Awaara, Shree 420, Jagte Raho, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai, Sangam, Mera Naam Joker, Bobby and Ram Teri Ganga Maili.
