Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions dropped a short video to mark the 20th anniversary of Kal Ho Naa Ho, featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan, on Saturday.
“It's time to revisit the past, embracing two decades in the blink of an eye! #20YearsOfKalHoNaaHo,” wrote the official Dharma Productions handle alongside the video.
The 20-second video depicts the numeral 20 traversing the screen rhythmically, akin to a heartbeat, and harmonised with the resonant theme music from Kal Ho Naa Ho. The clip concludes with the emergence of the phrase “20 years of Kal Ho Naa Ho”, encapsulating the enduring legacy of the Nikhil Advani-helmed romantic drama, which hit the cinemas on November 28 in 2003.
Last year, Karan Johar had taken to Instagram to commemorate the 19th anniversary of the film. He had shared a heartfelt post on social media, accompanied by rare behind-the-scenes pictures featuring the stellar cast. “An entire lifetime of memories, in a heartbeat! This film gave so much more than just that — it gave me joy, unbreakable bonds, a different lens for storytelling, and of course - the last film set I could be on with my father. And for that, I will forever be grateful to this film,” Johar, who had penned its story and screenplay, had written in the caption.
Kal Ho Naa Ho also featured Jaya Bachchan, Jhanak Shukla, Sushma Seth, Athit Naik and Lillete Dubey in supporting roles. The music was scored by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The movie is now available for streaming on Netflix.
