Filmmaker Karan Johar joked about “disinheriting” his son Yash and leaving everything behind for his daughter Roohi on Wednesday after the former refused to give him a gift on his 52nd birthday.
“Ok! I am disinheriting him! She’s getting everything,” Karan wrote alongside a video on Instagram.
The video begins with Karan asking his kids what he is going to get for his birthday this month. Roohi smiles and says, “From me, you’re going to get love.” However, when Yash’s turn comes, he says teasingly, “You’re going to get nothing from me. You don’t deserve it.”
“How dare you say that to me?” comes the reply from the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani director.
Karan’s longtime friend Farah Khan Kunder sided with Yash and commented, “A boy after my own heart.” Rakul Preet, who recently tied the knot with actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani, wrote, “Too cute.” Manish Malhotra dropped red heart emojis, while Bhavana Pandey commented with laughing and heart emojis.
“Hahahahahahahahahahaha,Yash for the win! Although I think Roohi copped out too, but hers was smarter/more gentle! Not to mention, @karanjohar we all saw your overflowing closets courtesy @farahkhankunder. No space in there for gifts,” singer-songwriter Vishal Dadlani wrote in the comments section.
Karan had welcomed Yash and Roohi through surrogacy in February 2017. He will turn 52 on May 25.
