Filmmaker Karan Johar on Monday deleted his Twitter account after sharing a cryptic goodbye message on the microblogging platform about making space for more “positive energies” in his life.
“Making space for more positive energies only and this is step one towards that. Goodbye Twitter!,” he wrote.
On the last episode of the recently concluded Season 7 of celebrity chat show Koffee With Karan, the filmmaker had spoken at length about his struggle with mental health and how trolling on social media had affected him.
When influencer-turned-actress Kusha Kapila asked Karan about his mental health during the season finale of the show on Disney+ Hotstar, Karan replied, “No, I actually have built some kind of thick skin over the years… but when I read stuff that’s completely putrid, awful and they (trolls) come down to abusing my kids, those are times when I feel ‘just leave them (his children) out of it’.”
Karan’s decision of quitting Twitter has left Twitterattis confused as the filmmaker has been active on social media lately, mostly for promotions of his films. Karan is yet to state a concrete reason behind his exit from the social media platform.
