Filmmaker and producer Karan Johar has penned a happy note, expressing his delight at being honoured by the British parliament in London on June 20 for his exceptional contribution to Indian cinema.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Karan also dropped two photos — one from the event and the other in front of the UK parliament building. In the first photo, the director held up the framed honorary letter in front of the iconic London building. The second picture shows the filmmaker receiving the honour.
“Today has been SUCH A SPECIAL day! I am fortunate and deeply grateful to be honoured at the British House of Parliament, in London by the esteemed Baroness Verma of Leicester. We celebrated my 25th year as a filmmaker in the film industry and I launched the teaser for #RockyAurRaniKiiPremKahaani too!” he wrote in the caption.
“It’s one of those days where I pinch myself and realise that dreams do come true. Thank you everyone for the unabashed love you have shown me in my journey. And I promise you, there is more to come!🙏🏻❤️ @ukparliament,” he added.
Bollywood celebrities have been quick to congratulate Karan on his achievement. Industry colleagues Anil Kapoor and Raveena Tandon congratulated Karan in the comment section of the post. “Congratulations my friend,” wrote Amil, while Raveena commented, “Congratulations! Well Deserved!” Sony Razdan also chimed in, “How wonderful many many congratulations to you….You deserve all this and much more.” Tiger Shroff, Shweta Bachchan, Navya Nanda, Zoya Akhtar and Maniesh Paul also congratulated the filmmaker.
