“Not a single day I haven’t thanked the universe, Aditya Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan for convincing me that I could be a storyteller and attempt to direct my childhood dreams on celluloid,” added Karan.

The picture shows Karan sitting with Shah Rukh and Rani on a bench in a park. Shah Rukh and Karan are dressed in winter attire, while Rani is seen in a lehenga with a shawl around her.

Also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta and Kirron Kher, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna explored themes of marital infidelity and dysfunctional relationships. Set predominantly in New York City, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna revolves around the love story of Dev (Shah Rukh) and Maya (Rani), who develop feelings for each other despite being married to other people.

Released on August 11, 2006, the film was a commercial hit, ranking as the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of the year.

On the work front, Karan is all set to produce Sharan Sharma’s upcoming sports thriller Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, featuring Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor and Abhishek Banerjee in key roles. The film is slated to arrive in cinemas on May 31. The 51-year-old filmmaker will also co-produce Alia Bhatt’s Jigra. Shashank Khaitan’s upcoming directorial venture Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, starring Sanya Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor will also be backed by Karan. The film will be released on April 18 next year.
