The one-minute-15-second video — featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji and more celebrities — shows glimpses of Karan on the sets.

“What began as a small attempt to share stories of love, friendship and family, that resonated within me, but as each one of you embraced these stories and characters, love earned a new meaning for me everyday,” his voiceover says in the video.

Karan’s directorial debut was the 1998 blockbuster hit Kuch Kuch Hota Hai starring Shah Rukh, Kajol and Rani. The filmmaker then went on to make several hits including Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), My Name Is Khan (2010) and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016).

“As I complete 25 years in the industry, this love of yours has given wings to a new story, a new great kahani, a story that celebrates love like never before in all its beauty and grandeur,” Karan says in the video, referring to his upcoming directorial venture Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.

Karan dons the director’s hat after a seven-year-gap for Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, starring Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan and Dharmendra. It is slated to release in cinemas on July 28.

“A film I've been waiting to share with you for so long, it's finally ready. See you at the movies where we celebrate family, love and so much more,” he signed off.

Karan also announced that the first look for Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will be released on his 51st birthday on May 25 at 10am.

Karan’s last directorial venture, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016), starred Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai and Anushka Sharma along with a cameo by Shah Rukh. The filmmaker also recently announced his joint venture with Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Productions which is set to come out with their first original series Gyaarah Gyaaraah on ZEE5.
