Karan Johar is set to don the director’s hat once again for a new project that is yet to be titled, the filmmaker announced on social media on his 52nd birthday on Saturday.
Taking to Instagram, Karan posted a picture of himself holding a booklet, apparently the screenplay of his new project. “Untitled Narration Draft. Directed by Karan Johar. 25th May, 2024,” reads the cover of the booklet.
“Get… Set…. Go! ❤️,” the filmmaker captioned the photo.
Karan’s previous directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, featuring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, marked his return to the director’s chair for the big screen in 2023 after a hiatus of seven years. The romantic comedy was a box-office success as it went on to mint Rs 357.5 crore gross worldwide.
Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, bankrolled by Karan’s Dharma Productions and Zee Studios, is set to release in theatres on May 31. Helmed by Sharan Sharma, the sports drama revolves around Mahendra (Rajkummar), a former cricketer whose career didn’t take off. Mahendra recognises his wife Mahima's (Janhvi) potential in cricket and motivates her to pursue her dream of becoming a cricketer, guiding and coaching her along the way.
