After going off the theatres to make way for Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu and Ajay Devgn’s Thank God, Kannada blockbuster Kantara is scripting a grand comeback, replacing the Diwali releases in several multiplexes in big metros and re-releasing in Tier-2 and 3 cities on November 4, on public demand.
Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, Kantara has grossed over Rs 300 crore worldwide since its release on September 30. Its collection from Karnataka alone stands at Rs 100 crore, making it the second highest-grossing film of the state of all time after KGF: Chapter 2.

Even though the collections of Ram Setu and Thank God saw a significant dip after Diwali, the mythological action film has maintained a steady upward trend. The Hindi version of Kantara has already beat the lifetime collection of KGF: Chapter 1 (Hindi), according to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
Kantara stars Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda, Kishore and Achyuth Kumar in key roles. Produced by Hombale Films, the makers of the blockbuster KGF franchise, the film is still going strong at the box office and is expected to break several more records in days to come.
