The trailer of Malayalam-language thriller Kannur Squad shows Mammootty as a no-nonsense police officer who leads a team of investigators to track down dreaded criminals.

Dropped by Mammootty Kampany on the actor’s 72nd birthday on September 7, the two-minute-one-second-long trailer shows that Mammootty’s tough police officer is given a “tricky case” to crack. But just as he begins to untangle the knot by dealing with hardcore criminals as an undercover cop, his superior officer orders him to return and leave the case. Despite the mounting pressure, Mammootty continues to stay calm and motivate his team. The clip also includes glimpses of stylised action sequences.

The official description of the film reads, “The gripping saga of a police officer and his team, their challenging journey to nab a criminal gang across the country. Further, it shows how he leads his team towards triumph, amidst professional uncertainties in this gripping drama.”

Directed by Roby Varghese Raj, Kannur Squad also features Vijayaraghavan, Rony David Raj, Azeez Nedumangad, Shabareesh Varma, Sarath Sabha and Sunny Wayne. Cinematographer Muhammed Rahil is behind the camera, while Sushin Shyam has scored the music for the film.
