Kangana Ranaut has heaped praise on Vikrant Massey for his “beyond amazing” acting in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail, mentioning that he might be able to fill the void the passing of actor Irrfan Khan has left in the industry.

Sharing a poster of the film on her Instagram stories, the 36-year-old actress wrote, “What a terrific film. Coming from Hindi medium, myself belonging to a rural village and being a general caste student for entry tests without reservations in my school years.”

The Tejas actress said that she was “weeping” throughout the film while watching it in a flight. “My co-passengers were stealing concerned glances at me, I am embarrassed,” she added.

In her next story, Kangana praised director Vidhu Vinod and Vikrant. “Vidhu sir has won my heart all over again, Vikrant Massey is beyond amazing,” she wrote, before drawing a comparison between the 36-year-old actor and Irrfan Khan. “In his coming years he might just fill the void Irfan (Irrfan) Khan saab left behind…Salutations to your talent, dear one,” she concluded her note.

Kangana had flayed Vikrant in 2021, calling him a “cockroach” in reply to the latter’s comment under actress Yami Gautam’s wedding pictures with Aditya Dhar on Instagram.

Kangana was last seen in the aerial-action film Tejas, written and directed by Sarvesh Mewara. In her upcoming directorial Emergency, Kangana will play former prime minister Indira Gandhi. The film stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Vishak Nair and Shreyas Talpade in important roles. Initially slated to release on November 24, 2023, Emergency has been pushed to later this year.
