Kandahar
The makers of the upcoming American action thriller film Kandahar released its official trailer on Wednesday. Directed by Ric Roman Waugh and written by Mitchell LaFortune, the film stars Gerard Butler alongside Ali Fazal, Olivia-Mai Barrett, Rebecca Calder, Navid Negahban and Bahador Foladi.
The one-minute-20-second-long teaser trailer follows an undercover CIA operative named Tom Harris (Gerard Butler) who is stuck deep in Afghanistan. He must fight his way out alongside his Afghan translator to an extraction point in Kandahar. But they must avoid being hunted down by elite enemy forces.
Kandahar will hit the theatres on May 26.
Rana Naidu
Netflix’s Rana Naidu trailer presents the real-life uncle-nephew duo Rana and Venkatesh Daggubati as father and son. Directed by Karan Anshuman and Suparn S. Varma, this series also features Surveen Chawla, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee and Suchitra Pillai.
The two-minute-37-second-long trailer shows the setting in Mumbai and chronicles the life of Rana Naidu (Rana Daggubati), a fixer who covers the tracks of the city’s most powerful people. However, the drama unfolds when his father (Venkatesh Daggubati) is unexpectedly released from prison, setting off a chain of events that could change everything.
Rana Naidu will be streaming on Netflix from March 10.
The Little Mermaid
Walt Disney Studios on Wednesday late at night dropped a new teaser of their upcoming musical fantasy film The Little Mermaid. Directed by Rob Marshall, this live-action adaptation of Disney's 1989 animated film of the same name stars Halle Bailey, Jonah Hauer-King and Javier Bardem alongside Melissa McCarthy, Daveed Diggs, Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina in voice roles.
In the 30-second-long video, we see Halle Bailey as Ariel (the mermaid), who gives us a tour of her underwater world. The music for the film is composed by Alan Menken.
The Little Mermaid is coming to theatres on May 26.
Daisy Jones & the Six
Amazon Prime Video released the official trailer of its upcoming American miniseries Daisy Jones & The Six on Wednesday. It features Riley Keough, Camila Morrone, Sam Claflin, Suki Waterhouse, Nabiyah Be and Will Harrison.
In the two-minute-41-second-long trailer, we see glimpses of a band called Daisy Jones & The Six preparing to perform in a packed stadium. The trailer presents us with an erratic story set in the wild world of the 1970s. The trailer promises love, betrayal, heartbreak, dissolution and rock music from the golden era of rock and roll.
Daisy Jones & The Six will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video on March 3.
