National Award winner Suriya on Wednesday said he has started shooting for his next film with director Siruthai Siva of Annaatthe fame.
The actor made the announcement on his official Twitter account.
“Shoot begins..! Need all your blessings..!! #Suriya42 @directorsiva @ThisIsDSP @StudioGreen2 @UV_Creations,” Suriya wrote alongside a photo with the director and composer Devi Sri Prasad from the film's launch.
Produced by Studio Green and UV Creations, the yet-to-be-titled movie marks the actor’s 42nd project.
Last month, Suriya was announced as the winner of the best actor National Award for Soorarai Pottru. He shared the honour with Ajay Devgn for the latter's performance in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.
Suriya recently featured in a cameo in the Kamal Haasan-starrer Vikram and starred as himself in a guest appearance in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, fronted by R. Madhavan. He will next be seen in "Vanangaan".
Kamal Haasan-starrer Indian 2 resumes shoot
The team of the upcoming film Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan, is set to start shooting for the remaining portions on Thursday, director Shankar has announced.
The Tamil-language movie is the follow-up to the 1996 vigilante action thriller Indian, starring Haasan.
Shankar, who also directed the first part of the film, shared the update on Twitter as he unveiled the film’s new posters featuring Haasan.
“Good morning Indians, we are glad to announce that the remaining shoot for Indian 2 is commencing today! Need all of your support and wishes,” the acclaimed filmmaker wrote.
Haasan said he will join the production next month.
“Filming for #Indian2 from September. Wishing team @shankarshanmugh, #Subaskaran, @LycaProductions and everyone else involved a successful journey. Welcome onboard thambi @Udhaystalin @RedGiantMovies_” he tweeted.
Indian 2 also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram and Samuthirakani.
The film is backed by Subaskaran Allirajah of Lyca Productions and DMK Youth Wing Secretary and MLA Udhayanidhi Stalin via Red Giant Movies.
Netflix sets September 23 premiere for Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega S2
Drama series Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega will return with its second season on September 23, streaming platform Netflix announced on Wednesday
The show, which was launched in 2020, follows young school dropouts who incept an elaborate phishing scam raking in fortunes, only to be intercepted by the police and local politicians.
Produced by Viacom18 Studios’ Tipping Point, the second season “will bring together a concoction of politics and revenge, paired with an unquenchable thirst for power,” the streamer said in a press release.
The upcoming instalment will see Sparsh Shrivastav return as Sunny alongside Anshumaan Pushkar as Rocky, Monika Panwar as Gudiya and Amit Sial as Brajesh.
Actors Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Aksha Pardhasany, Ravi Chahal and Seema Pahwa are also part of the cast.
Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega Season 2 is directed by Soumendra Padhi from a script penned by Trishant Srivastava. Ajit Andhare is attached as a producer on the project.
