Kalki 2898 AD will have its Hindi digital premiere on Netflix and release in other languages on Prime Video on August 22, the streamers announced on Saturday.
“Iss yug ka EPIC blockbuster aa raha hai Netflix par, Hindi mein Watch #Kalki2898AD Hindi arriving on 22nd August on Netflix,” wrote Netflix on Instagram alongside a video of moments from the film featuring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan.
Prime Video has announced that following a record-breaking theatrical run, the film will be available to stream on the platform in its original Telugu language, with dubbed versions in Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Helmed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD seamlessly blends science fiction with Indian mythology. Set in a dystopian future, the story follows a group tasked with rescuing the unborn child of lab subject SUM-80, named Kalki. The film boasts an impressive cast, including Prabhas as the mysterious mercenary Bhairavaa, Deepika Padukone as Sumati, and Amitabh Bachchan as the timeless warrior Ashwatthama. Kamal Haasan takes on the role of the antagonist, supported by a talented ensemble cast including Disha Patani, Brahmanandam, Saswata Chatterjee and Rajendra Prasad.
The box office collection of Kalki 2898 AD in India has crossed Rs 760 crore gross (Rs 640 crore nett) in all languages within 40 days.
Adam Wingard’s action fantasy film Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is also set to stream on JioCinema, announced the streamer on Thursday.
“An epic war is coming - they either have to rise together or fall alone. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, streaming August 29 onwards, exclusively on JioCinema Premium. Available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali and Marathi,” wrote the streamer on Instagram.
The film stars Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Dan Stevens, Kaylee Hottle, Alex Ferns, and Fala Chen in the lead roles.
The film is a sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) and the fifth instalment in the Monsterverse franchise. The movie follows Kong, who finds more of his species in the Hollow Earth and must team up with Godzilla to stop the evil forces of Skar King and Shimo from invading Earth's surface.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire received mixed reviews from critics, with many comparing it to Godzilla Minus One (2023). Despite this, it became a box office success worldwide.
