While Prabhas-starrer sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD is likely to dominate the box office this week, a few other titles are also hitting the cinemas this Friday. Here’s everything you need to know.
Kalki 2898 AD (Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada)

Kalki 2898 AD is a dystopian sci-fi film directed by Nag Ashwin, drawing inspiration from the Mahabharata. At its core, the story revolves around the emergence of Kalki, the 10th and final avatar of the Hindu deity Vishnu. The film is set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD where Kasi is the only remaining city in the world. It is ruled by a totalitarian elite led by the god-king Supreme Yaskin, who governs from a hovering inverted-pyramidal megastructure above the city. The plot revolves around a handful of warriors on a mission to save Kalki, the unborn child of SUM-80, a lab subject.
A Quiet Place: Day One (English)

A Quiet Place: Day One is an apocalyptic horror movie directed by Michael Sarnoski from a story he developed alongside John Krasinski. This third instalment in the A Quiet Place franchise acts as a spin-off prequel to the original film. The plot revolves on a woman named Sam (Lupita Nyong) as she navigates the initial phase of an alien invasion in New York City.
Alexander Er Pisi (Bengali)

Helmed by Debjyoti Sarkar, Alexander Er Pisi is a comedy drama based on a story written by Dulendra Bhowmick. Set in the fictional village of Choudighi, the story revolves around the Balak Sangha Club whose members decide to stage a play based on Alexander’s invasion of India. However, the play is disrupted because of the antics of Aparijta Adhya’s character. Embarrassed, the club decides to restore their reputation by organising a unique seven-day Tasa Jatra Pala event.
Jatt & Juliet 3 (Punjabi)

Cast: Diljit Dosanjh, Neeru Bajwa, Jasmin Bajwa
Jatt & Juliet 3 is the latest entry in the popular Jatt & Juliet film franchise starring Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa. The original movie premiered in 2012, with the second instalment following in 2013. In this film, Diljit and Neeru portray police officers from Punjab who embark on a mission to Canada, encountering unexpected challenges along the way.
