Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, crossed the Rs 500-crore mark at the worldwide box office within four days of its theatrical release, according to industry data-tracking platform Sacnilk.
The Nag Ashwin-helmed sci-fi epic , which also features Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, collected a staggering Rs 95.3 crore nett on its opening day. Although there was a slight dip to Rs 57.6 crore nett on Friday, Saturday saw a strong resurgence with Rs 64.5 crore nett. On Sunday, the Prabhas-starrer minted Rs 88.2 crore nett in India, taking the film’s total collection domestically to Rs 309 crore nett.
The Telugu version of Kalki 2898 AD has been performing better than the other dubbed versions at the box office. As per Sacnilk, the Telugu version minted Rs 168.7 crore nett in four days while the Hindi version came second at Rs 110 crore nett.
The Tamil version of Kalki 2898 AD amassed Rs 18 crore nett, while the Malayalam version earned Rs 9.7 crore nett. The Kannada version managed to rake in Rs 1.8 crore nett in India.
According to Sacnilk, the four-day gross collection for the Nag Ashwin directorial in India so far is Rs 369 crore gross. The worldwide gross of the sci-fi epic now stands at Rs 555 crore, according to the makers of the film.
Kalki 2898 AD has also made significant strides in overseas markets. North America has been particularly receptive to the film, with a collection of an estimated USD 11.2 million (Rs 93.35 crore gross) during its four-day opening weekend. It ranked fifth among the top 10 weekend grossers in North America, surpassing Hollywood films like The Garfield Movie (USD 2 million) and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (USD 1.7 million).
In the UK, Kalki 2898 AD has raked in Rs 9.38 crore, while it has minted Rs 9.18 crore in Australia and Rs 1.3 crore in Germany so far.
