Actress Kajol on Friday shared a cryptic note to announce that she is taking a break from social media, prompting a flurry of reactions from curious fans on Instagram.
“Facing one of the toughest trials of my life,” she wrote in the note alongside a caption that read, “Taking a break from social media.”
The 48-year-old, who featured in the recently released teaser of the Netflix anthology Lust Stories 2, also removed all her previous posts from her Instagram handle. However, her Twitter posts were still available.
The post has received over 75,000 likes in less than three hours, with fans and members of the film industry expressing concern in the comments section.
“Prayers ! ❤️,” wrote Shiksha Mandal actress Gauahar Khan in the comments section, which also had fans speculating the reason behind Kajol’s sudden exit from social media and possible situations the actress could be facing.
While the internet was rife with discussions ranging from her mental health to possible marital problems, some fans speculated that the post could be a promotional stunt for her upcoming project The Good Wife.
The Disney+Hotstar legal drama is adapted from the 2009 Julianna Margulies-starrer American drama of the same name. Writer-director Suparn Verma, who will be directing the upcoming drama, reshared Kajol’s post on his story and wrote, “You will bounce back soon.”
The Indian adaptation of The Good Wife also stars Alyy Khan, Aamir Ali, Kubbra Sait and Sheeba Chaddha.
In Netflix’s Lust Stories 2, Kajol will be seen alongside Neena Gupta, Amruta Subhash, Angad Bedi, Kumud Mishra, Tillotama Shome, Vijay Varma, Tamannaah Bhatia and Mrunal Thakur.
