Kajol and Kriti Sanon’s upcoming crime thriller Do Patti will premiere on Netflix on October 25, the streamer announced on Monday, sharing a new teaser, which hints at a possible double role for Kriti.

“Ab hoga khel shuru, lekin iss kahaani ke hai do pehlu. (The game is about to begin, but this story has two chapters). Do Patti releases on 25 October, only on Netflix,” reads a post from the official Instagram page of the streamer.

The short teaser opens with Kajol confronting Kriti at a bar, where she interrogates Kriti about a secret. Kriti, on the other hand, points out that Do Patti marks the first time Kajol is portraying a cop. The scene takes a surprising turn when another Kriti, apparently a twin sister of Kriti’s character, suddenly appears, leaving Kajol completely bewildered.

Earlier this year, a teaser dropped by Netflix showed Kajol grappling with a moral dilemma as Kriti Sanon’s character, a convict, disrupts the delicate balance between truth and evidence.

Set in the majestic hills of north India, the crime thriller is Kriti’s first venture as a producer and is backed by her production banner Blue Butterfly Films, which she launched in July 2023.

Do Patti also marks Kriti’s second collaboration with Kajol after Rohit Shetty’s 2015 romantic action comedy Dilwale. Besides, the film introduces Shaheer Sheikh, a familiar face of Indian television, to the big screen.

The Shashanka Chaturvedi-directed thriller is co-produced by Kanika Dhillon, who also serves as the screenwriter.
